Huneyn Welfare Society was established on 22 July 1992 (1412 AH) by a group of Somali professionals in Baidoa — at a time when civil war and famine were claiming thousands of lives every single day.تأسست جمعية حنين الخيرية بتاريخ 22 يوليو 1992م الموافق 1412هـ على يد نخبة من الإخوة الصوماليين في مدينة بيدوا — في وقت كانت فيه الحرب الأهلية والمجاعة تحصدان آلاف الأرواح كل يوم.
Moved by their Islamic duty towards their afflicted brothers and sisters, and after intensive consultations, these brothers — with the success of Allah — founded Huneyn to serve Islam and Muslims, and to deliver assistance of every kind to the needy and those affected by disaster.وقد رأى بعض الإخوة الغيورين على إخوانهم المنكوبين أن عليهم مسؤولية كبيرة تجاه هذا الأمر، وبعد مشاورات مكثفة وجلسات متتالية استطاع هؤلاء الإخوة بتوفيق من الله تأسيس جمعية حنين الخيرية لخدمة الإسلام والمسلمين وتقديم المساعدات المختلفة للمحتاجين والمتضررين.
The Society is a non-political, non-partisan and non-profit organization concerned only with humanitarian work. Its headquarters are in Baidoa, south-central Somalia, with a branch office in Mogadishu, the capital. Its hope is in Allah first, then in philanthropists and charitable bodies, to achieve its noble goals within the community.الجمعية منظمة غير سياسية وغير حزبية وغير ربحية لا تعنى إلا بالعمل الإنساني. مقرها الرئيسي حالياً مدينة بيدوا جنوب الصومال، ولها مكتب فرعي في العاصمة مقديشو، وأملها في الله ثم في المحسنين والهيئات الخيرية لتحقيق أهدافها النبيلة داخل المجتمع.
To encourage the Somali people to adopt participatory development planning in order to better their livelihoods — while providing emergency relief, orphan kafalah, education, healthcare, water and livelihood support to those most in need across south-central Somalia.تشجيع الشعب الصومالي على اعتماد التخطيط التنموي التشاركي لتحسين سبل عيشه، مع تقديم الإغاثة الطارئة وكفالة الأيتام والتعليم والصحة والمياه ودعم سبل العيش لمن هم في أشد الحاجة في جنوب الصومال.
